Audio extension cable earphones

Considering its only 5 ft. I don't think it would have any affect at all.

Everything you add to the signal path reduces output and adds distortion. But a 5 foot extension probably won't make much of an audible difference with cheap headphones.

These are called stereo mini plugs. There is a female to female stereo adapter. However, if you are trying to make a microphone work into an earphone you can forget it. Nothing will pass between them without an amplifier between them. A microphone produces a tiny voltage, an earphone requires a large voltage. See link

Yes you could do that. It would be much easier for you to just buy a 3.5mm stereo jack to 3.5mm stereo jack lead though. they aren't expensive.
